Women would like to think that being married and having children would be ideal. After all, the husband is also a parent and should be expected to shoulder some of the parenting responsibilities. However the truth is that married women with children report higher levels of stress than single mothers. Perhaps we are feeling demands of husbands and children, rather than feeling that our husband are helping. Maybe instead of helping reduce the demands on our time, they are adding to the expectations of what a real woman should be.
